A BIT ABOUT US
Turning Interest Into Action
We are a group immigrant parents living in the Sunset Park and Dyker Heights neighborhoods of Brooklyn, New York, two neighborhoods with a large percentage of immigrant residents who do not speak English. We organize our members to get involved in community service events, particularly events involving cleaning up the community streets and parks. Through our actions, we seek to promote social and community activism among immigrant community members and help deepen bond between parents and children by having them engage in actions together. Also, we want to inspire other immigrants to get involved in the community and improve the environment that we live in.
Parent-Child Relationship Association is 501C（3）non-profit organization. PCR aims to promote the various forms of family activities to enhance the bond between parents and their little ones.
The goal is to help our children improve their social skills and sense of responsibility, which is an important foundation that should be set in early life. Together, parents and their children can help build a better and more harmonious community environment!
Our mission is to build a strong community to empower parents and families to participate community projects as well as promote civil participation among Asian immigrant communities in the borough of Brooklyn.
THE MAIN DUTIES
PCR is committed to helping new and old immigrants with their transition into a completely new environment, and to help them adapt to different regional cultural differences. In addition, PCR wants to encourage them to participate in new activities that may be different from what they are used to. Assimilation and acceptance are some of the main goals of the organization. PCR wishes to serve the broader community, to help reach more ambitious goals, and to provide the stepping stone for the long-term and individual development of the people.
To create happy and harmonious families, which in part helps to build a healthy and culture-rich community.
To strengthen the bond between parents and their children and to make the world a better place, one family at a time.
