Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is coming soon and PCR offers all family a chance to spend time together learning about Lunar New Year. Parents and their children are working together to make a special Lunar New Year lantern, to help children understand China's special culture, decorations, and red envelope. We wish these lanterns will bring good luck to the families that participated in this event.

Holiday party Volunteer

On December 27th, PCR teamed up with the people of YMCA University of Settlement- Houston Street Center to provide a holiday party for the Special Education kids. In the beginning, the volunteers were instructed to help the organization set up and decorate their gymnasium in order to make it look appealing and festive. As the event was about to begin, the volunteers were separated into different sections: face-painting, temporary tattoos, bean bag toss, and etc. There were many different performances including a magic show and several dances. Volunteers Day

Today has been a very cold day with the lowest temperature of 27 degree Fahrenheit. A round of applause for all the volunteers that came today under this extremely cold weather. We raked about 78 bags of leaves, picked up 10 bags of branches and a whole bucket of cigarettes today.

PCR's first ever Gingerbread House

PCR's first ever Gingerbread House Workshop was a success! A special holiday craft event allowed parents and their children to work together to design and decorate their very own unique gingerbread house.

PCR Outstanding Dedication to The Thrive NYC- MHFA Initiative

(近500人).💯[耶]。 Our organization PCR director Nicole received the award of Outstanding Dedication to The Thrive NYC-MHFA Initiative. Since April, we had hosted 20 Chinese Mental Health First Aid training, total 412 people had taken the course.

Thank you to all the volunteers that came today. Special shoutout to the middle and high school students from New Utrecht High School, Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences, Junior High School 227 Edward B. Shallow, and Fort Hamilton High School that helped today. We cleaned about 239 bags of leave from 9 ave all the way to 6 ave 67st. We also planted about 3000 tulip seeds across the neighborhood today

We would like to thank all our volunteers, who used their precious Veterans Day off to help out in the park. Also, we are grateful for the help of the Fujian United Seniors of the USA for joining in on our efforts. At 8 --10am, we started covering the tree beds with shredded wood to make sure they can survive the winter. Parents and their children worked side by side cleaning up the park from 10-12pm. The park workers helped out by using leaf blowers to gather the fallen leaves, as we shoved them into large garbage bags. In four hours time, we packed up 285 bags of leaves! This activity has no age limit, young children took their part in the event as well as the elderly. Families are brought

PCR Halloween Event

PCR Halloween Event Special thanks to all our volunteers helping out to create such a festive Halloween atmosphere. Parents and their children work together on spooky arts and crafts. After a series of games, our day ended with a Halloween zumba dance party, led by our very own professional zumba teacher!
