After-School Program

Tutor, read along and play board games with K-5 children (3pm-6pm)

Service Description

In PCR's After-School Program, volunteers will tutor and read along with children to improve their reading and math skills. Volunteers are responsible for demonstrating time management, study habits, and mutual respect to children in elementary school (grades K-5). To promote a safe classroom environment, volunteers will instruct children to keep their work areas organized and encourage communications with peers and teachers. Program days are based on NYCDOE public school calendar. Must come at least once a week. Hours and day(s) of the week can be discussed and changed based on volunteers' schedules. September 7, 2023 - June 26, 2024 Mon - Fri 3 PM - 6 PM Location: 909 58th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11219 Requirements: Volunteers must be responsible and - 14 years or older - Have good communication skills - Have time management skills - Have the ability to follow directions and tasks - Have patience and be understanding - Can speak English and Chinese This program does not have a booking option.
