Meet the Team
Have a question, need some advice, or just want someone to talk to?
Book a one-on-one meeting with a PCR staff member to ask questions, or simply to have a conversation. Whether it's about family, school, volunteering, community involvement, or hobbies, we're here to listen and talk.
Note: Our staff are here to provide general guidance and support based on their knowledge and experiences. Any information or suggestions shared during these conversations should not be considered a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, or mental health advice.

Nicole Huang
Founder & Executive Director
Positive Discipline Educator | Peer Specialist (NYCPS-Provisional)
Hi, I'm Nicole, and I'm a mom of two.
My work at PCR has always centered on families, young people, and our community. Over the years, I've met so many families and heard so many different stories. As an immigrant and a parent myself, I know how it feels to be stretched thin between work, family, and building a life in a new place.
Raising kids, I've had my share of worry, impatience, and moments when I didn't know how to get through to them. As my children grow, I'm still learning how to understand them, when to let go, and how to take care of myself while caring for my family.
As a Positive Discipline educator, I enjoy working with parents on how to be kind and firm at the same time: respecting children while setting clear rules and boundaries. I've also trained as a peer specialist, and I hope to bring together my own experience and what I've learned to listen to and support people who need it.
If you'd like to talk about parenting stress, communicating with your kids, family rules, or your own feelings and life, I'd love to hear from you. I'll listen, share what I've learned, and think through next steps with you. If you're interested in community work or nonprofits, I'm happy to chat about that too.
Outside of work, I love walking by the ocean, reading, and spending time with our cats and dogs. Life gets busy, so I treasure the quiet, simple moments.
Feel free to book a time with me. Come with a specific question, or just come if you need someone to talk to. Either is welcome.

Jess Chen
Program Director
Parent Mentor
Hi! I'm Jess Chen, Program Director at PCR, where I've worked for nearly eight years. Over that time, I've been involved in many of our community programs, events, and volunteer activities.
Much of my work is about turning ideas into real programs and making sure everything comes together behind the scenes. I especially enjoy working with young people: hearing their ideas, helping them find ways to get involved, and watching them take on more responsibility and grow more confident through volunteering.
Outside of work, I'm a mom of two, including a teenager. Raising a teen has taught me a lot about the ups and downs of communication, independence, school, and how the parent–child relationship changes as kids grow. I'm always happy to share a parent's perspective, or simply listen if you want to talk something through.
Feel free to book a time with me if you'd like to talk about volunteering at PCR, community involvement, program or event ideas, communicating with parents, or anything you're trying to figure out along the way.
Wenzhen Deng
Program Assistant & Bookkeeper
BA Accounting & Economics
Hi! I’m Wenzhen Deng, also you can call me Solomon. I'm a Program Assistant & Bookkeeper at PCR, and I've been here for about four to five years. My core focus is managing the organization's finances — bookkeeping, budgeting, and keeping our financial house in order. One result I'm proud of: I've helped grow our annual budget from $200K to $500K, keeping it accurate and sustainable along the way. I'm also currently studying at Baruch College as BA, majoring in Accounting with a minor in Economics — so the practical work and the classroom theory reinforce each other.
What you can take away from 30 minutes with me:
- A practical read on your personal or small-organization finances — budgeting, bookkeeping basics, or how to get organized
- Perspective on accounting and investing that combines real books with formal training in accounting and economics
- Practical experience with personal taxes — how to get organized, what to watch for, and where newcomers commonly get stuck
- If you're a newcomer, an honest conversation about settling in — I've been there
This chat is for you if:
- You're a new immigrant navigating finances, paperwork, or simply life in a new country — I moved here 7 years ago and have studied in both China and the U.S., so I know the gaps firsthand
- You have questions about personal taxes and want a practical, plain-language walkthrough rather than jargon
- You want to talk finance, accounting, or investing with someone who works with real numbers and is formally trained in both accounting and economics
- You'd rather have a straightforward conversation than a sales pitch
Not for you if you're looking for a formal financial advisor, licensed tax preparer, or licensed investment advice — I'll tell you honestly what I can and can't help with.
No preparation needed. Bring your questions. If it's not a fit, no follow-up pressure.
(Available in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.)

Tina Chen
Youth Program Director
Registered Nurse
Hi! I’m Tina Chen, a recent graduate of NYU’s Nursing program and a Registered Nurse. I’ve been part of PCR since 2018, when I first joined as a volunteer, and I’ve now been working with the organization for about five years.
I currently serve as PCR’s Youth Program Director, where I oversee youth programs, volunteer opportunities, and leadership development for teens. A big part of my role is helping young people get connected to meaningful opportunities where they can build skills, gain experience, become more involved in their community, and grow as leaders.
I’m also the designated contact for volunteer award applications, college-related letters, volunteer program planning, and recommendation letters. I’m happy to meet with students and volunteers who have questions about their involvement at PCR, school or college planning, career interests, leadership opportunities, or next steps in their volunteer experience.
Feel free to schedule a meeting with me if you’d like to talk through any of the above, ask questions, or get some guidance and support!

Eric Lin
Youth Program Coordinator
BA Computer Science
Hi! My name is Eric Lin, and I’m the Youth Program Coordinator at Parent-Child Relationship Association (PCR). I started as a volunteer in 2020 before transitioning into a staff role. I currently focus on youth programs, event planning, volunteer recruitment, and community partnerships.
I graduated from Hunter College with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Math. Although I’m not currently working in the tech industry, I’m happy to share my experiences with college applications, choosing a major, managing coursework, and adjusting to college life.
You’re also welcome to book a meeting with me to discuss volunteering, community involvement, event planning, or working at a nonprofit organization.
Outside of work, I enjoy badminton, PC gaming, and fishing. I also love trying new things and hope to experience jet skiing and skydiving someday!
If any of these topics interest you, feel free to book a meeting with me. I’d be happy to connect!

Shuyu Zhu
Outreach Coordinator
BA Communication Studies
Hi! I’m Syuyu, the Outreach Coordinator at the Parent-Child Relationship Association (PCR). I help coordinate community activities, communicate with families and community partners, and support volunteer opportunities. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Communication and moved to the United States seven years ago. Having attended school here as a new immigrant, I understand some of the challenges of adjusting to a new school, language, and culture. I’m happy to share my personal experiences and what helped me along the way. Feel free to schedule a meeting with me if you’d like to talk about: Attending school in the U.S. as a new immigrant Adjusting to a new environment and navigating language differences Studying Communication Community outreach and working at a nonprofit Getting involved in PCR’s programs and volunteer opportunities You’re also welcome to bring up anything else you’re interested in or curious about! I speak Mandarin and Cantonese, so you’re welcome to use whichever language you feel most comfortable with. Whether you have specific questions or simply want to talk about your experiences, I’m happy to listen and share!
