Jess Chen

Program Director

Parent Mentor

Hi! I'm Jess Chen, Program Director at PCR, where I've worked for nearly eight years. Over that time, I've been involved in many of our community programs, events, and volunteer activities.

Much of my work is about turning ideas into real programs and making sure everything comes together behind the scenes. I especially enjoy working with young people: hearing their ideas, helping them find ways to get involved, and watching them take on more responsibility and grow more confident through volunteering.

Outside of work, I'm a mom of two, including a teenager. Raising a teen has taught me a lot about the ups and downs of communication, independence, school, and how the parent–child relationship changes as kids grow. I'm always happy to share a parent's perspective, or simply listen if you want to talk something through.

Feel free to book a time with me  if you'd like to talk about volunteering at PCR, community involvement, program or event ideas, communicating with parents, or anything you're trying to figure out along the way.

Tina Chen

Youth Program Director

Registered Nurse

Hi! I’m Tina Chen, a recent graduate of NYU’s Nursing program and a Registered Nurse. I’ve been part of PCR since 2018, when I first joined as a volunteer, and I’ve now been working with the organization for about five years.

I currently serve as PCR’s Youth Program Director, where I oversee youth programs, volunteer opportunities, and leadership development for teens. A big part of my role is helping young people get connected to meaningful opportunities where they can build skills, gain experience, become more involved in their community, and grow as leaders.

I’m also the designated contact for volunteer award applications, college-related letters, volunteer program planning, and recommendation letters. I’m happy to meet with students and volunteers who have questions about their involvement at PCR, school or college planning, career interests, leadership opportunities, or next steps in their volunteer experience.

Feel free to schedule a meeting with me if you’d like to talk through any of the above, ask questions, or get some guidance and support!

Eric Lin

Youth Program Coordinator

BA Computer Science

Hi! My name is Eric Lin, and I’m the Youth Program Coordinator at Parent-Child Relationship Association (PCR). I started as a volunteer in 2020 before transitioning into a staff role. I currently focus on youth programs, event planning, volunteer recruitment, and community partnerships.

I graduated from Hunter College with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Math. Although I’m not currently working in the tech industry, I’m happy to share my experiences with college applications, choosing a major, managing coursework, and adjusting to college life.

You’re also welcome to book a meeting with me to discuss volunteering, community involvement, event planning, or working at a nonprofit organization.

Outside of work, I enjoy badminton, PC gaming, and fishing. I also love trying new things and hope to experience jet skiing and skydiving someday!

If any of these topics interest you, feel free to book a meeting with me. I’d be happy to connect!

Shuyu Zhu

Outreach Coordinator

BA Communication Studies

Hi! I’m Syuyu, the Outreach Coordinator at the Parent-Child Relationship Association (PCR). I help coordinate community activities, communicate with families and community partners, and support volunteer opportunities. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Communication and moved to the United States seven years ago. Having attended school here as a new immigrant, I understand some of the challenges of adjusting to a new school, language, and culture. I’m happy to share my personal experiences and what helped me along the way. Feel free to schedule a meeting with me if you’d like to talk about: Attending school in the U.S. as a new immigrant Adjusting to a new environment and navigating language differences Studying Communication Community outreach and working at a nonprofit Getting involved in PCR’s programs and volunteer opportunities You’re also welcome to bring up anything else you’re interested in or curious about! I speak Mandarin and Cantonese, so you’re welcome to use whichever language you feel most comfortable with. Whether you have specific questions or simply want to talk about your experiences, I’m happy to listen and share!

Vicky Liu

Social Media Coordinator

BFA Illustration

I’m the Social Media Coordinator for the Parent-Child Relationship Association, where I manage our social media channels and create flyers and videos. I first became involved with the organization in 2017 as a park cleanup volunteer, and as the organization grew and expanded its programs, my role evolved along with it.

I recently graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Illustration, with a focus on digital painting in Photoshop. While I don’t currently work professionally as an illustrator, I’m happy to share my personal experience with art school, including portfolios, applications, classes, and the creative process, as well as resources that I’ve found helpful as an artist, or general questions about working at PCR.
