RISE Network Rally

We were proud to stand with Asian American Federation and our RISE partners on Thursday at City Hall, urging New York City Council to fully fund the #RISENetwork at $3.5 million dollars in the FY2027 Budget!

RISE is not just a legal services network. It’s a lifeline for Asian immigrant New Yorkers who rely on trusted community organizations for reliable legal support in their languages. When immigrant families are forced to wait months for legal help, the consequences can be devastating. Asian immigrants make up nearly 30% of NYC’s non-citizen population, yet community-based legal providers lack the resources to meet demand. New York City Council must fully fund the #RISENetwork at $3.5 million.

APAVoice 2026 Candidate Forum

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the #APAVoice 2026 Candidate Forum! This forum gave community members the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates, talk about the issues that matter to our neighborhoods, and make informed decisions. Our participation helps strengthen our communities and ensure our voices are heard.

APAVoice Voter Information Tabling

Together with APA VOICE: Voting and Organizing to Increase Civic Engagement,MinKwon Center 민권센터, Homecrest Community Services, Inc., and United Chinese Association of Brooklyn, we held a voter registration tabling event. Thank you to everyone who joined us and stopped by to register to vote and learn more about the voting process. Staying informed and participating in elections helps strengthen our community and make our voices heard.

CityParks PuppetMobile: Pinocchio and Geppetto's Big Apple Adventure

Thank you to City Parks Foundation PuppetMobile for bringing Pinocchio and Geppetto's Big Apple Adventure to our community! The kids had such a wonderful time enjoying the show on their day off, and it was the perfect way to spend a beautiful day outdoors. We're so grateful for programs like this that bring arts and community together for families to enjoy.

Community Garden Beautification Day

Thank you to Partnerships for Parks, Brooklyn Horticulture, and all of our amazing volunteers for helping us continue to care for the garden area at Leif Ericson Park.

WeSpeakNYC ESL Classes

Our hard-working ESL students continue to attend lessons and strengthen their English skills, empowering them as they take important steps toward building their lives in America. Thank you to NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs's WeSpeakNYC for supporting this effort.

Coney Island Beach Cleanup

A Day Just for You, Mom

Thank you to all the moms who joined us for an afternoon of conversation and relaxation. With delicious food, snacks, and drinks, participants had the opportunity to unwind, share experiences, and enjoy a welcoming space created just for them.

Book Distribution

📚 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our book distribution! Families browsed a wide selection of free books for children, giving them the opportunity to discover new stories and develop a love of reading.

This summer, let's reduce screen time and encourage more time for reading, imagination, and learning.

Youth Dairy Nutrition Class

🍦 Thank you again to community educator Mengxue Qu for another wonderful Youth Dairy Nutrition Class. Participant learned about dairy nutrition and had fun making their own ice cream.

Reading Group

Our weekly reading group brings community members together to share stories, ideas, and meaningful conversations. Thank you to everyone who joined us—we look forward to reading and learning together again soon.

Safe Talk Space

Our Safe Talk Space is all about creating a welcoming, judgement-free environment where conversations stay within the room. During the session, teens talked casually and had a chance to support one another through shared experiences.

Our Neighborhood, Our Lens
