8th Anniversary Fundraising Gala

Thank you to everyone who celebrated PCR's 8th anniversary with us!

We're so grateful to everyone who joined us and to all those who continue to support PCR and our work. Your dedication, encouragement, and commitment to our community have made these past eight years possible. Thank you for continuing to show up for our community, and we're grateful to celebrate this milestone with you!

Pop-Up Cooling Station

During extreme heat days, PCR’s Pop-Up Cooling Station provided community members and outdoor workers with a place to take a break from the heat. 💦🍉

With misting fans, fresh fruits, cooling towels and important heat safety information, we helped our community cool down and learn ways to stay safe in high temperatures.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, and to our volunteers for helping us look out for our community! 💚

End-of-Summer Volunteer Appreciation Day

🤩 Throughout the summer, our volunteers dedicated their time and energy to supporting our programs and events. To say thank you, we wrapped up the summer with a Volunteer Appreciation Day with drinks, food, and games. Thank you to all our volunteers for spending your summer with PCR and for all you've contributed to our community!

Back to School Giveaway with Councilmember Alexa Avilés

We had a wonderful time tabling at Council Member Alexa Avilés’ Back-to-School event! It was great connecting with so many community members as we came together to celebrate and prepare for a new school year.

Thank you, NYC Council District 38, @unitedvolunteers_bk,

@mixtecaorg, @hispanic_federation, @sparklionsclub, @nyulangone, @sunsetparkbid, @brooklynbookbodega for bringing our community together and for having us! 💙

Tree Count with NYC Parks

Our volunteers joined other community members for a hands-on tree counting and assessment activity! Participants received tote bags with the materials they needed and learned how to identify tree species, measure and assess each tree, and record their findings using the Tree Census app.

It was a great opportunity to learn something new and help support the care of our urban forest. Thank you to @nycparks!

Parent-Child Relationship Workshop

Continuing our Parent-Child Relationship Workshop series, this session brought teens and parents together to build on the skills explored in our previous workshops. Families participated in interactive role-play to help both parents and teens navigate challenging situations at home. Thank you to all the parents and teens who joined us, participated, and made this session so meaningful!

Voter Registration Tabling

On Voter Registration Day, we partnered with APA VOICE, Homecrest Community Services, and MinKwon Center to help distribute voter information and support community members with voter registration. Every voice matters, and civic participation starts with being informed and ready to take part. Let's make your voices heard and do our part in shaping the future of our communities!

ESL Classes with We Speak NYC

Our ESL Classes are back! This September, in partnership with NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs' We Speak NYC, we welcomed a new group of students eager to strengthen their English skills. For immigrant New Yorkers, learning English can open doors to new opportunities. We're excited to see our students' growth!

Growth Reading Club

Raising children isn’t easy—and no parent should have to navigate every challenge alone. Our Parent Mutual Support Group is a welcoming space for parents to come together, share experiences, and learn from one another. Thank you to those that joined us!
