International Children's Day
In honor of International Children's Day, we brought families to Governor's Island for our recent Historical Exploration of New York (HENY). We had a wonderful picnic, visited historic sites, and played games on the island.
Learning how to make Zongzi
On Tuesday, June 6th, we came together to make Zongzi, or sticky rice dumplings!
This tradition is part of the Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Festival). Making Zongzi, filled with sticky rice and delicious fillings, helps keep his memory alive and brings us together to celebrate our cultural heritage.
Men's Health Resources Awareness
We hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day and enjoyed the activities at the Men's Health Resources Awareness Exhibition. A special shoutout to Molina Healthcare and our sponsors for helping make this possible!
CPR Training Class
On Sunday, June 16, we had a CPR training class for our community members! Empowering our community with CPR skills ensures we're ready to help each other in times of need.
Workshop for Teens
Today, we held a workshop to discuss the needs of our teens and young adults in our community and explore ways we can better serve them. Engaging in these important conversations helps us create a supportive environment where our youth can thrive.
LEAD & LEARN
Our new program for teens, Lead & Learn, is in motion! Our first workshop yesterday encouraged shy students to express themselves, and integrated mindfulness practices with elements of outdoor nature play. Afterward, we brought these activities to our After-school Program to lead children. And a special thank you to Brook Li for teaching and leading us!
