Free air conditioner with installation at no cost as part of the Get Cool NYC Air Conditioner Program. This program is available to income-qualified adults aged 60 and older who receive certain benefits including but not limited to Medicaid and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP),or live in subsidized housing (see the form for the complete list of programs).
Individuals can see if they are eligible by completing an online eligibility form or by calling 3-1-1. Please forward this information to your clients without a working air conditioner who are age 60+. If you cannot access the form or have any trouble with it, you can call 3-1-1 and select the prompt for Get Cool NYC Program. A live agent will conduct the eligibility form over the phone.
After submitting the form, the client’s information will be checked for eligibility. If they are eligible, they will get a follow-up call to enroll them in the program. Online forms which are left incomplete will not be considered. Ineligible New Yorkers will not be contacted.

Can I complete the online form for my client? Yes. If you would like to, you may complete the eligibility form on behalf of your client, but make sure that contact information is for the client or their proxy.
If eligible, can the City contact my client’s caregiver or proxy? Yes. Whoever is completing the form may enter alternative contact information for a caregiver who can be contacted in case of eligibility.
Is the online form available in any languages other than English? No. The form is only available in English, but clients who speak other languages can call 3-1-1.
