Since January, our teens have been on a powerful creative journey through the SeeingHappy Workshop, in partnership with SeeingHappy.org, founded by Mandy Seligman, who has led similar projects through UPenn Masters of Applied Positive Psychology and with organizations around the world, bringing her passion and vision to help teens find joy and meaning through photography.
Throughout the months, participants used photography and storytelling to capture everyday beauty, reflect on personal experiences, and develop authentic ideas for impactful college essays. With themes like “Gratitude and Joy” and “Conquering Challenges,” students were encouraged to slow down and notice the small, meaningful moments in life.
This program was about more than just taking pictures. It was about shifting perspective. Students learned to see themselves and the world through a more compassionate, joyful lens. Along the way, they built community, practiced leadership, and gained confidence.
We wrapped up the program this summer with a moving photo exhibition, where participants proudly shared their work. Their perspectives are captured not through filters or expectations, but through real moments and stories.

We’re beyond grateful to the SeeingHappy.org team and to every teen who took part in this journey. The joy, resilience, and creativity they shared created something truly special.
